This trail is about half way up the rather large hillside and only about a foot wide.
The valley floor holds the rocky and rapid filled Merced River, which you can just barely see in the upper left of the image.
It's the only somewhat level terrain there, and it's rather difficult to meet and pass others.
There had been a rattlesnake sighting that day; but we didn't encounter it.
