This COP-SPOTTER (constable on patrol spotter) was a handy option when cars did not come with rear view mirrors as standard equipment. It was simply attached to the top of the windshield so that the driver could easily keep an eye behind him. This one was found in an old garbage dump not far south of Death Valley, California. The mirror glass is broken and the reflective coating has flaked off.
