Vandalism - a hole where dozens of orchids once bloomed...

Greenville, SC

I never really thought there would be a danger of plants being vandalized or stolen when I created this bog garden. It's in front of my house, and there is a public sidewalk about fifteen feet in front of the garden. This year, the garden has been vandalized two times: The first time resulted in the Sarracenia flava being uprooted and thrown into the yard while they were in full bloom. I replanted them, and hope that some parts will survive. The second time was sometime last week while I was on vacation. The dense group of Calopogon tuberosus in previous photos was uprooted, as a group, and taken away. Ironically, the vandals left five plants - the same number that I started with four years ago... I guess these plants are just too attractive to be left alone.
