Head (1955) by William Turnbull

Chatsworth House

A gallery inside the house was displaying paintings by William Turnbull, this one being called "Head". As we walked through the gallery there were some mutterings from some visitors along the lines of "I could have done that". I am sure it is much more difficult than it looks.

I really like this drawing John and whilst it has a simplicity of style it is nonetheless a piece of art that has stood the test of time.. You have managed to capture it remarkably well considering its location. V

You were lucky to get this as many galleries won't let you photograph...it is intriguing and agree with Sheena, and Walter..a conundrum ,but certainly a capture worth talking about ...V

Certainly deceptive. I really like the colours and you've captured it very well.

Very squiggly :0) It is a very nice head shot.

I'm sure it was. An interesting work of art in any case, and well photographed.

I agree with you John, much more difficult than it looks.
