I was very surprised to see two of these pennants in the field next to the feeders on Hilda Road this morning. I didn't recognize them at first, never having seen the females (or teneral males) before. I certainly wasn't expecting to find them there, given their preferred habitat of ponds, marshes, slow streams and lakes. Interestingly enough, a Blue Dasher was hunting in the same area.
