Sorry for the graphic nature of this photograph.
I swear that we are trying to help. I'm sure many people would disagree, seeing the length of some of the needles that we use!
A lot in medicine seems barbaric. The fact that we inject alcohol near nerves to "kill" them in order to help kids walk and move better seems a little counterintuitive.
I perform these procedures and wonder how one day, we will have the technology to help these kids without hurting as much.
I guess it is a matter of not being satisifed with what we have...avoiding the status quo. The answers to many questions may be right around the corner. There are just a lot of corners to look around.
