Once in a while, it pays off to be in the Northeast United States. It just happened to be only partly cloudy when the Earth's shadow decided to venture across the face of the moon. What a treat. I had decided to leave the camera in the house until my buddy said, "Hey, do you happen to have binoculars." Well, couldn't find the binoculars but the 70-200mm with the 2x teleconverter was sitting right next to my camera. That magnification helped. Now, I wish I had something other than the big tree to help my shaking hands. Along with the laziness that kept me from initially, getting my camera or setting up a tripod, I didn't bother with a jacket either. There is only so much shiver that Nikon vibration reduction can handle.
Anyway, the moon was pretty neat. I'll set up the tripod in 2007.
