Several years ago three tiger cubs were born at the West Palm Beach Zoo.
Needless to say, I went crazy photographing them. In this picture two
of them are having a great time together ... don't know where the other
one was. They are about 6 months old here. Sadly, when they were about
a year old they all got sent to other zoos; I have no idea if they were
able to stay together :-( [I have such mixed emotions about zoos]

I once read that tigers are the closest in behavior to the domestic cat. The capture of their playful antics are such fun to watch and so like kittens. Our zoo had a similar story with three Sumatran tiger cubs that I photographed monthly until they reached one year old. They, too, went to different zoos to add to the gene pool of their endangered species. Voted.

I have mixed emotions too. But, it is great to see them, but I wish they were free. Our zoo is open areas so they can roam. No fences.

They are so beautiful, so incredibly beautiful. I share your sentiment about zoos. I dislike them on the whole, and yet, as Barry said, if they were in the wild the risk of poaching would be high. On the other hand they'd be free. A conundrum. V

Nice shot and fabulous color! V
Regading your comment - I agree, nice to see them, but is it fair that they are not allowed freedom.
On the other hand, tigers are being poached for their hides, so which is kinder? - I don't know.
