Every year approximately 300 swimmers (of all ages and skills) gather for a one mile, off shore swim.
This photo was the beginning of the race …… everyone ran into the water and headed for a buoy about 100 yards out.
After rounding that, they swam (with the current) for one mile to the north. Awards were given for many
categories based on age ……. Some folks there were over 70! It was a remarkable event.
