My Special Place - The Beach

Compliments of Tropical Storm Isaac

I love the beach and go there often ….. but not for swimming or sun bathing. Walking is my thing.
My favorite times are sunrise, sunset, twilight, and whenever there’s a weather event that affects the water. I always take a camera.

There’s something about the immense size and power of the ocean that helps me put the little things in my life into proper perspective.
It’s also a great place to people-watch and enjoy the antics of humanity.
The top photo was taken 2 weeks ago when south Florida experienced the outer bands of Tropical Storm Isaac.
The second one is today, just after sunrise on a much more serene and peaceful day.
The ocean has so many captivating personalities!

I like the beach too and this looks so moody thanks to the storm.

My favorite retreats lie at sea level and over a mile above it!

The storm looks beautiful but I prefer your special place on the calm sunny day with equally gorgeous clouds!

You're very fortunate to love near the sea. Beautiful and dramatic beach image. V.

We are all envious of your close proximity to the beach Janet!
Two beautiful and different feelings captured in these images! V

Quite a different mood in both. I like the dramatic touch of the one on top. Great shot, though I would prefer to walk there the other day (LOL). v

Inviting and beautiful images. I live close to the Ocean as well, but don't spend as much time there as I should. I find it a relaxing place for walking, and like you, I like Dusk and Dawn best.

I couldn't agree with you more but I live just about as far from the ocean as you can get in Western Europe. These images are so cool and convey your love of the water perfectly.

Love the way the sky and see seem to blend. A beautifully composed shot with a somewhat brooding air that is compelling. VV
