I'm pleased to say we have 3 pair of these beautiful Orioles in our yard regularly. I saw the bright male on my hummingbird feeder several times. So I invested in a seperate "oriole" feeder. We normally have literally dozens of hummers all over our yard, with 3 feeders up tor them. It took some time and patience to draw the beautiful orioles, but I kept the oriole feeder fresh and now we've seen as many as 5 of them at a time at the feeder. The males are much more skittish but the females are getting more relaxed with our presence. It's a beautiful thing to behold all the hummers and Orioles feeding close together in harmony. I live in the LA area, but we are up in the hills. They love the trees and brush. We feel very blessed to have so many. Hope they stay, it's my first summer in this house. ☺️

I live in Monrovia and have had several at once feeder at my humming bird feeder over the last several days. It is a joy to watch them.

I just saw a pair outside my kitchen window. At first I thought they were some exotic birds someone let out, but I looked up their color and the state I live in and low and behold here was your picture! I live in Oak Park very close to Simi Valley and yes they were hanging around my hummingbird feeders. I hope I get to see them again. They are beautiful.

We live in Rosamond,Ca.(high desert)and have a grove of California tobacco trees in our back yard which have bright yellow flowers that just late last year a pair of hooded oriole`s showed up and have been here ever since.Each morning as well as most of the day there here enjoying the nector as well as the humming birds.We have come to enjoying them each morning.Brian

I have a pair now as well, and was pretty sure they were Orioles, I live in a rural canyon, near Loma Linda, CA i have been so lucky this year, i have some new birds not sure what kind they all are, but I feed and water and they love it here...even the roadrunners i have as long as i dont catch them eating my baby birds...LOL they chase lizards you take beautiful photos

We have a pair that have been showing up in Rancho Cucamonga, CA every Spring for the last few years. They are beautiful, esp. the male, but we also have a large family of hummers and I refill the feeders several times a week. They stay for a couple of weeks, then they're gone until the next year.

We discovered three Hooded Orioles taking the nectar from our hummingbird feeder attached to our Camphor Tree in Rancho Cucamonga. Three Hooded Orioles visit the feeder all day and in to the early evening and share the nectar with the hummingbirds. The one pictured above looks like he could be the male and there are two others that do not have the black markings on the chin and breast. The are gray and light yellow. So lovely to watch them!

I found an injured bird. I live in Laguna Beach near the canyon. It has a orange head with black collar and yellow body with black and white wings. Very pretty. I have him in a box until I can find help for him tomorrow. I was afraid if I didn't help him, he may get eaten by an animal tonight

I just hung my hummer feeder last night... The first bird i c on it was this one.. Beautiful bird. i got so excited. Never seen one here before. It flew up into a palm tree next door. I live in Rocklin Calif. That's outside of Sacramento.

enjoy the birds while you can...flowers are blooming spring is in the air so the hummers are concentrating on the nectar from flowers

Think we have male & female here in Newport Beach. They keep stealing our hummingbirds' nectar! Do the male & female have different calls?

I have one that stays around my yard and feeds off of my hummingbird feeder as well. It also has a partner that is grey and light yellow. Their beaks are about one inch in length and sharp enough to drink out of the small holes.
