Two things I really like about this image over and above being a pretty snow scene. I like the integration of the natural environment and the built, industrial environment, and the way they are parallel and flow in the same direction. Some photographers have a learned horror of utility lines; however, they absolutely belong here by the pond and Route 146. The other thing I especially like is the way the image at first glance seems to be monochrome, with black water and black tree trunks, and then the colors begin to appear in the dead oak leaves and the sign on the bus, and the streetlights. And, seeing what I now know is 146, I realize that I have traveled it many times and have seen it only from the right hand lane, coming and going. And not like this.
