Home Lines' Homeric in February, 1988. She entered service in 1985 on the NYC-Bermuda run, with winters out of Ft. Lauderdale to the Caribbean. In 1988 Home Lines was purchased by Holland America, and Homeric was renamed Westerdam.

In 2002 she was transferred to Costa as CostaEuropa, replacing the aging CostaRiviera and making way for Holland America's new mega-ships.
