Not so much why the hole... why is the cork offset on it? I'm sure I've seen one before somewhere but... nope, dunno! :)

i think its some sort of cork board and the hole is for your thumb and the metal is for support? like a palette board?

It's not cork. It's left over cooked oatmeal rolled out and baked to a golden brown. Then you used a cookie cutter to make the hole in order to throw us all off!

it doesn't! :) cork lining to something. I can't think of anything that would have a hole in it like that though
