Actually, I think you are mistaken :-) This is a 700 Series Shinkansen which is used for all classes of service... Nozomi refers to the train service which stops at the least number of stations and is therefore the fastest between major cities... other classes are Hikari (stops at more stations) and Kodama (stops at all stations) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/700_Series_Shinkansen
