Here we see the Silver fern, the iconic fern frond, the national symbol of New Zealand.
But this frond is now dying. It’s done its duty, and its time to be replaced by a younger, greener, prettier frond.
As you can see, the green leaves are drying out; the ends are turning brown and becoming brittle and breaking off.
