Battery Townsley. Simulated rockwork over rear entrance to casemate #2

Original caption: "Fort Cronkhite. Battery Townsley. The rear entrances of this casemate are camouflaged with simulated rock with movable sections which are removed when the battery is in action. This was found to be necessary because the infrush of air on firing was sufficient to collapse light rigid structures. These simulated rocks were made of casting plaster and cement on a light wooden framework covered with burlap and chickenwire."

other sizes: small medium large original auto
