Original caption: "Fort Cronkhite. Battery Townsley. Casemated battery of sixteen inch guns with the embrasure opening hidden by a large camouflage net which is held in place by a series of cables the net is released from the top and droppped down along the cables. The cables are then released and moved to the side. The rectangle formed by this net was difficult to eradicate or blend with surroundings. Experiments made at Battery Davis to overcome this difficulty were successful."
