Stockholm C

F1200 from 1914 heads the SJK train Stockholm-Norrköping-Stockholm. The class F engines were a very advanced type of its vintage, with both compund steam and superheating. At the time, Sweden's rail network had a maximum speed of moderate 90km/h, which posed no challenge for this beauty. After most of Sweden's main network had been electrified during period of 1920 to 1940, all 11 class F engines were sold to Denmark in 1937. Some 25 additional engines were built from the original 1914 Nohab blueprints by Frichs between 1942 and 1950.
