Capt. Lucius Williams was captured at Petersburg, Va., on April 2, 1865, and placed briefly in the Old Capitol Prison at Washington, D.C. He was then carried to Johnsons Island and was released probably around June 20-24 and came home. Prison life became rough toward the end as the prisoners had to eat rats to survive. But he found more trouble waiting for him at home at Jacksonville, Ga.
