Austin "Monk" Hatton - One Of The Greatest Friends I Ever Had

Children loved him. He bought me a "Peacemaker" cap pistol and when I broke it showing the ladies how I could draw and twirl it, he carried me to McRae and bought another. He devised all sorts of ways to pull my baby teeth - from pulling one out with his Jeep to tying a flatiron to one and tossing the iron off the porch. He made life "exciting." He died when I was seven. I had lost one of the best friends I would ever have.
