Hurricane Dennis paid a visit today, and once again we were very fortunate here at our home. A large tree came down across the little country road we live down and took out the power line, so the electricity was out for about five and a half hours, but other than branches and limbs in our yard and two wayward patio umbrellas, we fared well. Landfall was less than a hundred miles from here to the west, (and that makes us on the east side, … a dangerous place to be), but other than torrential rain and heavy wind gusts around 60 MPH we were okay. This image shows my “storm watch post”, … complete with Casio Watchman battery powered color TV to see the live radar of where the storm was coming in, cigarettes and lighter to pollute my lungs, CD player with some home burned tunes to jam to, a combination radio an flashlight, and of course my little lantern to light in the dark. Oh yeah, … this photo was taken around 3:40 in the afternoon. The darkness in the background yard is how it looks when there’s a hurricane over your head. Wild huh? Not sure when I’ll be able to post this as the Internet is down.
God I love a good storm.
It must be a guy thing.
