Looking through all these photos and reading all those comments it makes me relize how many heartless people are out there. Over 100,000 lives were lost, Over 100,000 people lost a loved one and the number of lives this disaster effected is unmentionable. Times like this is when i wish with everything i have for world peace, so all who were effected could know that they have the whole world by their side in the time of need. There are some who bring up the 9/11 disaster comparing it to this Tsunami, for me i see know comparison one was done through the evil of man kind the other through a different kind of evil, a natural disaster. All those who lost a loved one in the tsunami have no one to blame, bodies will never be found, survivors may never be able to live the peaceful live they deserve, they will be haunted from the memory until their time is up. I am only one person, buy i would like to say from the bottom of my heart to all those in mourning how deeply sorry i am, i am not a religous person at all but i will pray for you, your family and for your lost ones.

This is a somewhat unclear image but the size of the initial wave is quite evident. Appears to be some 200-300 yards off shore and about 5-8 meters in height. Wonder about the status of the person that took it.
