Today did not start well: it was cold, it was dreary, household chores beckoned, the kids acted like they
belonged on another planet. By 1 or so, we decided to give up and go to the local. I do not go to the
pub that often and I do not often drink beer, but today the two went together. What you are looking at
is what remains of a pint of Adnams Broadside Bitter, the finest product from a small Suffolk brewery.
This one was so good I had another and .... the day got better. The 5 and 7 year old had fun
chatting up the new barmaid. And I decided the hell with PaD for a Sunday.
Besides I like the amber colour against what's left of the finish on the table. A question: if beer
does that to a table, what will my insides look like 30 years from now?
