1/50 of a second is not fast enough to catch a moving bird, but if you carefully watch for slight moments of stillness and snap at the right time, you MAY get a sharp shot, as I did here. After shooting this I decided to move up to ISO200 and use shutter priority with speed set at 1/100, since it was still not bright out. Mountain mornings can be pretty gray. Just about every bird image in this gallery has been taken through double-paned glass windows or doors.
