I've been using a basket type air fryer (really a convection oven with a fancy name) for about 4 years and from first use fell in love with it. Only problem was too little space for a larger amount of food in one layer, so I bought a larger one which died when it was about a year old.
Have been researching for a better unit and discovered this Cuisinart TOA-60 which has traditional analog dials, rather than a noisy, subject-to-failure digital readout.
I've only had it for a couple of weeks and little by little am finding more jobs for it. Today, instead of roasting asparagus tossed with olive oil, salt and pepper, in my big oven, I decided to try air frying it. Turned out beautiful at a lower temp, cooked for a shorter time.
When I plated it I drizzled balsamic vinegar and sprinkle parmesan cheese on it. I didn't have fresh shredded and had to settle for the jarred grated kind, but the fresh shredded is much better - especially when it melts on.
