From Nine Year Old Seed

I routinely store leftover seed in plastic bags in my fridge.

When I came across some geranium seed I thought "What the heck? I'll plant these" and put them in pot outside, forgetting that I had planted them until they germinated and all looked the same. I had no idea what the were until the first true leaf appeared and I knew I had some geranium plants on the way!

Astounding! I had a similar experience with sweet corn last year. The seeds were homegrown and from the year 2015. They all came up beautifully and made plenty of corn.
