SIL00003 Obedient Plant - physostegia virginiana

ALMOST ready to bloom, and about 5 feet high. I was wondering if I'd ever seed buds on it. I start these from see a couple or three years ago and one bloomed last year. It seems like it was putting it's energy into spreading underground, since I have a large patch of it. I planted it because when visiting the Ranger Station in the Pisgah National Forest I saw many butteflies feeding at its blossoms. It also attracts hummingbirds. http://floridata.com/Plants/Lamiaceae/Physostegia%20virginiana/83

They are magnets for bees and other pollinators. This reminds me that I planted some but I can't see them in the garden yet! Terrific details in the sharp shot. V
