Onion Bhaji

I think I died and went to onion bhaji heaven!

Spurred on by my success with yesterday's spinach pakoras I decided to try another fried Indian snack. Found a recipe on YouTube, which worked mostly very well with some accommodations to what I had in the house, and my observation that the amount of chickpea flour (besan) and water had to be adjusted, or the onion slices wouldn't stick together. I also substituted parsley for the cilantro and jarred pickled jalapenos. chopped, for the green chili. I did have the coriander powder, turmeric, and red chili powders.

Seasoning was PERFECT, as were my bhajis when I got the consistency right - by trial and error. This is the recipe I used (have a pad and pencil nearby and your hand on the mouse to stop the video if you want to write down the ingredients: (I just realized I had forgotten to write down asafoetida - and I had it in the house too - in a glass jar - it really stinks, but tastes good!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1p6VxDtvEo
