I was hoping for overcast skies when we visited the Yorkshire Dales, hoping to not have to deal with too great a dynamic range and burnt highlights. What I really needed was sunny days, BUT to go out shooting at the right time of day - not always possible when you're on a whirlwind touring schedule to get in as much as possible in two weeks!

When I started working on my pictures I realized a lot of Photoshop manipulation would have to be used to get more "punch" into them.

The next images shows one attempt, not entirely to my satisfaction.
