_MG_8393 New Nest in My Front Entryway

Shot at a distance from double paned transom - low light in that area - marginal ISO, but I got it. It's so much fun to watch these lively, raucous little Carolina Wrens

Canon EOS 7D
1/400s f/4.0 at 300.0mm iso2000 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Great shot. Not only great fun to watch as she raises her family, but their song is a delight. Isabel, I have read that they tend to remain in a small area throughout their lives. Do you think this is the same little wren you've had nesting in prior years? We have what I think is the same family return year after year to raise their young. Mama wren, in years past, has built her nest in a bucket in the greenhouse, in a flower pot on my potting table and in a flower pot sitting in a chair under the deck. Lovely and entertaining little birds. I would not want to be without them.

What fun that must be!! Those birdies know a good thing when they see it. And the babies can even learn how to fly in a protected area! Great photo of them, and in such difficult conditions!

Don't place that skillet on a hot stove! You are blessed to have them near you.

I bet you are glad that they are not disturbed by the removal. How much fun to watch for babies!
