I specifically set the zoom of the 100-400 lens to 135mm to see what sort of detail I would get when I cropped an image. I have been considering getting the 135mm f/2 lens, mostly for dog agility and conformation in dark arenas. Was told that the 70-200 zoom would be more useful. I was, however, happy with this result.
