Great inside joke and yes, a gauzy snow drift over reflections of the past. This is a real teaser - we want to see behind the curtain but we only see what's behind us.
To me it suggests a heavenly, starry sky. I love the faint building in the background, around which your stars fall. Or they could be snowflakes too. In any case, this is a beautiful image!
