Under Heavy Sky

Rain clouds...and heavy rain clouds at that, Ya I like sunny days too but this type of day is the best in my mind
for thought provoking images of these old homes. I think to myself how it must have been in the early 1900's
growing up in a home like this, the spring winds and heavy rains beating down on single pane glass, oil lamps
all a glow in the dark afternoon. To be kid back then would have been rough for most of us today.
I lay in the grass to get this image without so much as a care just like they may have done seventy-five years ago.
Kids playing before the storm hit, getting a smell of that fresh spring air, huh to be a kid again as my mind wandered.
As I got up out of my dream and looking through the view finder I was covered head to toe in wood ticks....great just great.
I soon had them cleaned off and was gone.........but as I looked back I still dreamed of being a kid, just for one more day.

Loved the idea of this image until you got to the "ticks part". Great image anyway.

Wonderfully dramatic image Mike. I certainly empathize with the tick story.

Love the image and the mood it evokes, inspired by the dreamscape of fading back in time – and then you mentioned ticks.
