This was the original hot water heater setup from the 1920's. You might notice the old cast iron stove has piping outlets that connect to the cold water intake and exit to the galvanized upright hot water storage tank. When you wanted hot water, all you had to do was put some firewood inside the stove, light it up and wait for the hot water to rise inside the holding tank for later use in bathing and washing the dishes. Makes you appreciate what you have now, doesn't it?
