This bird was with a flock of 13 Canada Geese at the litltle decorative pond below the Miramar Retreat Center in Duxbury, MA ("T" intersection of Bay Road and Loring St.) about noon on March 13, 2011.
A group of Canadas has been there since the ice went out, and as I drove by this noontime I caught a glimpse of yellow and stopped. I was curious to see if the bird had somehow gotten some police caution tape wrapped around its neck. At first look I thought the letters said "HONK" and I thought it was a joke of some sort. But when I got a better look I could tell that it is had a yellow neck band reading "30MK". I beleive the second character is a zero not an "oh". I will post provenance when I learn it.
