Grüß Gott

I bought this porcelain plaque at a charming little shop in Vienna near St. Stephen's Cathedral in 2006.
It is fun going into businesses in Austria and hearing the lyrical, "Grüß Gott" greeting!
I believe it means "God's Greeting".

It's sweet :) Beautiful photo and the "Gruss gott" greeting was the main one I used to hear when in Germany.

The essential meaning of grüß (dich) Gott is therefore 'God bless you', which is nice and good shot too!
