The Black-bellied Sunbird has a very restricted range of southern Ethiopia and neighbouring Somalia and parts of Kenya. The birds in Ethiopia are the northern sub species erlangeri. It is a stunningly bright colourful bird, the photo does not show it to its best appearance. Photographed at the Dawa River between Ngele Borena and Yabello which was the only time we saw this bird.
