The steep hills bordering Loch A Chroisg plunge straight into the depths of this narrow loch which is so well protected from the prevailing winds that it is often blessed with mirror smooth reflections. On a summers day I positioned myself opposite these delightful spindly Scots pine trees ensuring that none of them overlap and very carefully excluded any trace of sky creeping in above the hillside. I very much like the overlapping tones of green and think it makes a very pleasing contrast to Spartan pines taken in the depths of winter.
