I have passed this colourful outcrop of rock around the edge of Kinlochleven numerous times and always considered the golden splash of lichen to be very photogenic particularly against the jet black rock and pools of green weed but the sky beyond had always been uninteresting despite the vertiginous skyline. A vicious squally shower lashed the shores and just as it passed I seized an opportunity to take the shot at its colourful best with the sky still hanging with threads of rain water.
