I think he is using MR-14EX like me because the right side is brither and on the flash there you can set a really nice soft flash.

Those guys are really funny. I've tried to shoot them with reversed lenses but then you get lots of chromatic aberrations and the DOF seems to be even swallower than what can be seen here in your picture.
I am wondering wich flash you use, because the light is very gentle and even.
