There were butterflies everywhere: from large and small heaths,
to various fritillaries, and even a lone marbled white... --
but this peacock was the only one that would stay still
for long enough for me to poke my lens at it!

You took this with a 10-20mm? Your lens must have been almost touching it! No wonder most of them flew off!
But what an effect though - such crisp detail and unusual DOF. Love the colours BTW!
