Sleeping in chains...
15 November 2005 (60)

Fovant, Salisbury, UK

I found these rotting sleepers discarded next to one of the few field-gates around here that has no right-of-way through it.
Not unusual... -- as used railway sleepers are often the building blocks for all sorts of agricultural storage, etc..
However, I'm not so sure if the chain was simply used to haul them, and then forgotten;
or has (or had) some other purpose.

It struck me as an interesting metaphor, though.....

Very good use of black and white and contrast.

Just from looking at the photo it's easy to imagine that the chain was there for a real purpose and well, if for nothing else, at least it was there for you to make this great b&w about it... That's reason enough for me ;)

I love the contrast and the decay! Great shot!
