This is an ecohistorical monument. These trees were imported from Australia and planted here shortly after WWII to quicly suck up all the water and prepare the area fro development. When it turned out not so good an idea because of the natural value of the Everglades area, they had to 'poison' every single tree.
BTW excuse the low technical quality of the image, it was shot from a fast moving coach....
