Six Gill Shark (10-12 feet long)

Six Gill Sharks are among the most ancient species of shark. While most sharks have five gill slits, this species has six; hence the name. They have no dorsal fin. In summer, they migrate into shallower waters of the Northwest in pursuit of Ratfish. Here, they are a rare sight for lucky divers. They are not aggressive toward divers.
