You caught an excellent shot of this little bird! I love these warm colors and details! Good work Herbert!
Guest 08-Jan-2005 17:55
Nice sharp shot, Herbert. You caught some beautiful warm light, as well.

A SEMIPALMATED PLOVER :-) Cute little shorebird works fine for me..... We actually have a beach out here on Cape Cod that closes at times to protect the nesting plovers.... great capture

beautiful. sometimes I could do with legs that bend backwards at the knee. ;)

Herb, this is a great shot. We were in San Diego over Christmas and spent hours watching groups of tiny birds that raced in and out following the waves' progress across sand - is this the same bird do you know?
Karen Stuebing08-Jan-2005 13:08
Nice sharp shot. I love his golden color and he's adorable.

Awesome shot Herbert, I just had to look at your exif and find out if you got this close or is you have one heck of a tele, and I see you have a wonderful tele. What a pretty bird with such a weird name. I will now go lookie at your link.

It's a beautiful shot Herb, but actually this is a Snowy Plover, which a much nicer name than semi-palmated plover ;-)
Guest 08-Jan-2005 05:33
Nice capture -- it is a very cute bird.

It is just great to see this cute little guy so close....

Herb, like how you've included the seaweed or skate pods or whatever you have washing ashore out there-it really gets the small size of the bird across. Guess these must be a relative to our Piping Plovers?

Well, I could pronounce little shore bird, Herbert, now I'm not sure about it's full handle LOL !!
Steve Pepple08-Jan-2005 03:04
Don't these shore birds run really fast? Nice capture.
Pepe Zyman08-Jan-2005 01:58
Did you get wet?
Coleen Perilloux Landry08-Jan-2005 01:36
I like this picture. Is this the bird who runs along the shore, barely lifting his feet, and looks like he's skittering along?
Dawn08-Jan-2005 01:35
FAbulous shot here!
Charlie Ogard08-Jan-2005 01:32
I love the low angle...very nice.
Robin Reid08-Jan-2005 01:23
Gosh, all this time I thought that bird was white breasted Knufken! LOL
Very nicely done H. and I'm glad you are learning your bird names.
Guest 08-Jan-2005 00:54
wow..amazing detail..
Yvonne08-Jan-2005 00:51
A delightful photo of a cute little bird!
Guest 08-Jan-2005 00:47
I have never been able to catch a bird still enough to take a good photo...well done!
Guest 07-Jan-2005 23:48
Hard to get such clear detail on these little buggers (semi-palmated (?) or not), so this is really excellent work.
Gary Hebert07-Jan-2005 23:28
Excellent work Herbert, wonderful composition and details.
Cliff07-Jan-2005 23:13
Lovley close up - I'd love to get a long lens and give this a try!
Guest 07-Jan-2005 22:35
This is a great image, the bird looks so sharp and the lighting is perfect.
