Joop's Dog Log - Sunday June 13

Stand-off with a cow.
She was in the way. And she wasn't going to move, that much was certain.
She was big and heavy. I looked her in the eye, and she looked right back at me.
Then she began to smile. At least I think it was a smile.
How can you really tell if a cow is smiling?
But she saw something. She seemed to recognise me. She relaxed.
At least I think that's what she did. Then she let me pass.
I wonder what happened.
What did this cow see in me?

Goedemorgen JOOP. GR: DIEN

Obviously, the cow was admiring your colors and thinking how much your wonderful black and while markings resembled one of her relatives.

Clearly, old boy, she recognized yr superiority, yr far higher rank in the wonderful world of animals. She saw you were an alpha guy and she behaved quite properly. Not meaning to be judgemental, mind you, but the bovine folks aren`t the swiftest oars in the river, if you know what I mean. One taco short of a combination plate. Elevator doesn`t quite make it to the top floor, and all that. You get the drift, dear boy. However, what they do have is size. Doesn`t pay to have one sit on you, or step on yr foot. So one just has to be polite, don`t you know. You, of course, being old hat at this sort of discourse, played it brilliantly. Man, I tell ya, yr fotolog could be a manual, given to puppies and their humans. How To Be a Dog - by Joop

And did you hear this week about the collie that can recognise 200 words? His human can lay ten toys in a row and tell him to pick up any one and he goes and does it. Then when a new toy is introduced that he`s never seen before, his human can say, "Go and get the x" and he works out that x must be the one he`s never seen before and goes and brings it to his human. Clever things you dogs.

Joop, she was probably remembering how sore her nose was the LAST time she had a showdown and LOST when the dog jumped and bit her right on that large, tender, soft and sensitive nose!! Paw from Luke! :^)

Feel the dignity of a cow. Do not think that you are superior to her, for you are not.

The cow belongs to the people believing in being reborn again & is wondering by loking at you if she is a reborn dog or you a reborn cow.

this is so so funny to me Joop!! I can`t remember the name of it, but there was this REALLY silly kung-fu type movie (like Kung POW or something...) and one scene had a karate-fighting cow... with the exact look your friend here has!! I can`t stop laughing every time I see this.. and I know you didn`t mean for it to be funny.. :) sorry :)))

Twins? Seperated at birth? LOL Cool photo!

She saw what looked like a Holstein calf, I'd guess. A Black Angus cow used to like my Schipperke (small black dog) - she'd lick him through the pasture fence.

P.S. Elsie, the Borden milk cow often smiled, as did her whole family. ;-)
