Joop's Dog Log - Thursday May 06

Everybody, meet Roy!
Roy lives nextdoor. He`s a good kid. He has no brother or sister
and his father and mother both have jobs, so he stays with his grandhumans a lot.
I talk to him when I get a chance, I like almost all young humans.
Roy and his humans have a big grey cat. This cat gives me a lot of work.
He seems to like our yard better than his own.
And he makes bad smelly spots if I don`t chase him out in time.
So there`s a lot of chasin`going on...
I`m sure Roy is not a cat human though. He would rather have a dog.
Told you: he`s a good kid!

Goede morgen Joop.

yes, he does look like a dog person, the way he`s smiling at you, joop. lucky you have good neighbours. (yesterday you said about liberty: "It`s also being free from the past." does that include my own personal past? i like the idea, but it`s so very difficult sometimes. thanks for the thought though, i`ll work on it : )

So you also have a human friend... and you seem to get along very well, don`t you? Keep it this way, friendship is wonderful!

thanks for the reply, as usual i was being slightly tongue-in-cheek, slightly serious. i understand the generational progression, my parents were teenagers by the end of WW2 and describe the nightmares they had about the germans and japanese invading. to their credit, they now have a german son-in-law whom they adore. we were lucky in australia during that war, so i suppose the scars aren`t as deep. i still think the concept deserves exploring on a personal level though. the past is a dark place, sometimes. i`m torn between remembering mistakes so as not to repeat them ("lest we forget") and simply moving on, enjoying today for what it can be. trying to keep learning, is all, i guess.

oh, and the answer to why the police seized the sound system is where you asked it. it`s hard to understand their motives sometimes.

I love children. They are so innocent and truly honest. They say exactly what they want to say and they don`t measure the consequences. Instead of adults, which sometimes think twice before speaking! He really seems a great kid. The fact the he prefers dogs shows that he`s very wise! Enjoy his company Joop and I`m sure you are a lovely company too!! Take care, Nicki.

What a handsome boy. We are the perfect petting height for these young humans, right Joop? Sometimes it`s tough to keep my balance when they run up and kneel down and hug me so hard, but they have so much more great energy than the older ones! -Sarah.

I`m a cat AND a dog AND a kid lover, Joop. ;-) Fun stuff! But yes, the cat should be making smelly spots in its OWN yard. ;-) Hah!

that`s a very cute friend you have there, Joop, but really you must become a bit more open-minded about cats. That`s all I`m going to say about that!!

Joop, Heather says that compared to being Miss Fotolog Dog, her big show win yesterday is nothing! At least, I think that`s what she said. After four stressful days of showing followed by a good long swim in the Bay, she`s too tired to say much of anything right now.
