I would have loved to stay a few days and talk to the locals but it was a flight from Fairbanks with limited time. Shaloam to my friends in Wiseman, many good years it was my home in the Brooks Range for me and my dog team , canoeing wild rivers,it was a subsistance lifestyle I enjoyed and survived a few close calls like shywashing at -35 below after my team and me went thrue the Koyukuk on the North Fork. Everyone thought I would be a old sourdough for ever but that just goes to show what the Lord can do cause now I am married and we have 6 children here at Pleasant Hills Children`s Home near Fairfield,Texas. Please let me hear from you`ll some time , who stays in Smitty`s old cabin now ? I play my same guiatar and sing about that old cabin on the hill, Happy Trails till we meet again Orbin Smith . PS don`t miss Heaven cause i want to see you there.
