I visited this town in May 2009 it was raining and was not able to get good photos thank you for posting this site. I would have loved to stay a few days and talk to the locals but it was a flight from Fairbanks with limited time. A very nice local jave us a talk and limited tour due to the rain well worh the effort. Reg ELLERY Western Australia.

Shaloam to my friends in Wiseman, many good years it was my home in the Brooks Range for me and my dog team , canoeing wild rivers,it was a subsistance lifestyle I enjoyed and survived a few close calls like shywashing at -35 below after my team and me went thrue the Koyukuk on the North Fork. Everyone thought I would be a old sourdough for ever but that just goes to show what the Lord can do cause now I am married and we have 6 children here at Pleasant Hills Children`s Home near Fairfield,Texas. Please let me hear from you`ll some time , who stays in Smitty`s old cabin now ? I play my same guiatar and sing about that old cabin on the hill, Happy Trails till we meet again Orbin Smith . PS don`t miss Heaven cause i want to see you there.
